S.W.A.T.C. Sheltered Women and their Children
Mission/Purpose: Providing essentials for sheltered women and their children who are victims of domestic violence, forced out of their homes due to physical, mental and/or sexual abuse.
Scriptures:
II Timothy 1:7 “God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."
Psalm 34:4 “I sought the Lord and He heard me and delivered me from all my fears.”
Psalm 27: 1“The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear; the Lord is the strength of my life, and whom shall I be afraid.”
Procedures and Guidelines: The SWATC Ministry does drop offs to shelters four times a year (January, April, July and October). The exact day and time is given to SWATC by the Development/Community Coordinator of the receiving organization. Care packages for individual women and children who are displaced from their homes are dropped off upon request.
Requests for individual care packages can be made through partnering churches in writing or via email to SWATCministry@aol.com. The request should list the recipient’s name, permanent and/or temporary address and phone number. If the woman has children, the names, sex and ages of her children should be listed also along with their nationality (this is so that personalized products can be used). Requests may be made by phone as well by calling 614-806-6204, but all of the above information will still be needed in order to fill the request. A member of the SWATC Ministry can either drop off the care packages or the woman or someone on her behalf may pick it up at a partnering church. ID must be shown and a record of all those receiving donations will be kept (both organizations and individuals) for follow-up/ministry purposes.
